Please take a look at the video lessons on The Scientific Way of Thinking to understand how VERA supports scientific modeling.

COVID-19 Flattening the Curve

Using the dataset provided by Johns Hopkins University, VERA models the spread of COVID-19 and its relationship with intensive social distancing strategy.

The simulation result shows the results of intense social distancing on infection rates. These strong lifestyle changes drastically reduce the number of potential avenues for disease spread, and the resulting spread of infections occurs much slower, providing time, resources, and planning for a society to operate in the times of a pandemic.

With VERA, explore two parameters to control the levels of social distancing, interaction probability and adoption/transmission interval.
